The Trenton TQ9 board is a PICMG 1.3 system host board (SHB) or single board computer (SBC) that offers a wide variety of multi-core processor options on a board with the extensive I/O support needed in today's complex system applications. The TQ9 board features the latest dual- and quad-core Intel® Core™2 Processor & Intel® Q35 Express Chipset.

Along with the significant performance improvements delivered by the multi-core processors over the TQ9's 1333MHz front side bus, the Trenton TQ9 also features a dual-channel DDR2-800 system memory interface. The four DIMM sockets on the SHB support up to 8GB of high-bandwidth memory using PC2-6400 DIMMs.

Flexible PCI Express (PCIe) x16, x4 and x1 electrical links are key elements on the TQ9 SHB. The SHB's x16 PCI link can support either generic PCIe cards or advanced PCI Express video and imaging cards. The board's x4 PCIe link can operate as either a single x4 link or as four x1 PCIe links on a PICMG 1.3 backplane. This PCIe link flexibility is ideally suited to supporting a wide range of PCI Express cards, devices and bridges to PCI-X and PCI option cards on a PICMG 1.3 backplane.

Advanced I/O capabilities of the TQ9 include on-board audio, a large number of USB 2.0 and SATA II 300 interfaces. Off-board PICMG 1.3 backplane I/O includes support for eSATA II 300, USB 2.0 and Fast Ethernet interfaces.
