NEXCOM Introduces VTC 6100the new Intel® Atom™-based Fan-less In-vehicle PC

Cost-effective and High-performance in-vehicle computer for bandwidth-intensive applications

NEXCOM have launched an intelligent yet rugged telematics PC, which has been specifically designed for tomorrow's in-vehicle computing applications. Based on Intel's energy-efficient, 1.6GHz Intel® Atom™ N270 CPU, the VTC 6100 is fully compliant with most relevant industry standards including e13 and EN 50155 making it suitable for a wide variety of napplications within trains, buses, boats and other vehicles.

Designed for usage in even the most extreme environments, the VTC 6100 is housed in compact aluminum chassis and can withstand dramatic levels of shock and vibration up to 2G. With the inclusion of an optional shock/vibration kit and/or IP65 enclosure the systems ruggedness is further enhanced. To facilitate mobile communication, navigation and tracking the VTC 6100 can support GSM, GPRS, GPS WCDMA, HSDPA, WLAN and Bluetooth.

For in-vehicle infotainment and digital signage applications, the VTC 6100 boasts a multitude of display interface connections such as VGA, DVI-D and LVDS. The platform also supports Dual Independent Display for CRT, DVI and LVDS a feature that enables developers to run two separate applications on two separate screens. The unit has intelligent ignition detection, power on/off delay control and power surge protection that enables it to adapt to various power supply conditions. Further, power on/off delay setting and low voltage protection setting can be controlled by software. For increased flexibility, VTC 6100 has a 6-36V DC power input with an external smart battery backup for uninterrupted power support. To allow a multitude of applications to be considered, the

VTC 6100 boasts numerous I/O interfaces including USB x 3, COM x3, Audio x2, CF, LAN, Mini-PCIe x2 and PCI 104. Typical applications include automated vehicle tracking, driver information systems, in-vehicle digital signage and vehicle dispatch.
