Real-Time Systems GmbH:
x86 Real-Time Hypervisor

Through real-time virtualization, the RTS Real-Time Hypervisor allows individual cores of an x86 multicore processor to be treated as individual computers.
Each processor core has the capability to boot, reboot and execute completely independent of others while preserving hard real-time performance for deployed Real-Time Operating Systems.
The configuration tool allows assigning dedicated hardware resources to each core, i.e. its own memory, I/O Ranges, IRQs or assigned PCI(e) devices. Hardware assigned to real-time operating systems can be accessed directly, using standard drivers with no latencies added.
Communication between processor cores can be established via the included virtual TCP/IP network that allows full bridging and routing functionality or directly through a user configurable shared memory.
The RTS Real-Time Hypervisor can be used to either execute multiple of the same operating systems (Asynchronous Multi Processing AMP) or a mix of e.g. an RTOS with a General Purpose Operating System (GPOS) like Windows.
This new technology allows customers to greatly reduce their system costs by the possibility of migrating their dedicated hardware for e.g. data acquisition or control to a multicore x86 architecture running a GPOS for connectivity purposes or GUI in parallel on one of the other cores.
