The Xilinx SPI cores provide a fully compliant Packet over SONET (POS) solution, which can be quickly integrated into networking systems. Through user-configurable options, the SPI cores provide design flexibility while seamlessly interoperating with industry leading Application Specific Standard Products (ASSPs) to maximize the data transfer bandwidth. The Xilinx cores are fully compliant with the latest Optical Internetworking Forum's (OIF) System Packet Interface (SPI) implementation agreements, as well as the SATURN® Development Group's POS-PHY interface specifications. The SPI cores interface between Physical (PHY) and Link layer devices within networking applications, enabling OC-48/OC-192 POS, ATM, Gb and 10 Gbps Ethernet applications. The Xilinx SPI cores have been verified in hardware to interoperate with Link-Layer, PHY and Intel® NPU devices.
