The Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series delivers the benefits of Intel® architecture for small form factor, thermally constrained and fan-less embedded applications. Implemented in 45nm technology, these power-optimized processors provide robust performance-per-watt in ultra-small dimensions (26 mm2), while providing state-of-the-art features such as SSSE3 instructions and HyperThreading.

Featuring embedded lifecycle support, the Intel Atom processors are ideal for many embedded market segments such as in-vehicle infotainment, medical, interactive client (kiosks, point-of-sale terminals), gaming and industrial control. They remain software compatible with previous and current 32-bit Intel® architecture and complementary silicon.

The Intel® Atom™-based MIRACH module produced by M31 features a very compact footprint; CPU, memory, chipset and all the high speed peripherals fit inside a tiny 80x60mm board. All the I/O signals are routed to the mating board via a single fine-pitch connector; this mating board can be custom designed to fulfill the specific needs of the application easily. The only requirement for operation is a regulated 5V supply, since the module will generate all the required voltages by itself.

Furthermore, the Megrez evaluation board is available for quick hands-on testing, and serves also as a design reference for the implementation of the provided peripherals.
