Advantech's new AIMB-340 is our first SBC computer based on Intel's EmbeddedATX form factor. EmbeddedATX is a low profile form factor specification for embedded applications such as DVR, Gaming, kiosks, point of sale (POS), thin clients, and other high performance, low-profile embedded products, offering the most current processor technologies in a low cost solution. EmbeddedATX is ATX backwards compatible for the rear I/O panel, to reduce risk and preserve existing investments. It has the same dimensions and mounting hole locations as the microATX form factor as well. There is available PCI expansion via PCI riser, with both ATX and SFX power supplies able to be used. The utilization of the ATX family helps keep costs down. Normal SDRAM and DDR DIMMS can be used on the board.
