The FlexPAC is an ideal platform for high-end, mission critical applications requiring substantial add-in capability for boards and peripheral drives. It is designed to host 4 ultra high performance full length add-in cards. Power and flexibility are assured by the industrial passive backplane technology with PCI / ISA / PCI-X slots.
For example, a telecom or network testing platform may be called upon to host a Windows XP or 2000 operating system and several very expensive, power hungry add-in cards. FlexPAC can handle these types of professional instrumentation platforms with ease.
To get best protection for the add in cards the rugged housing construction is based on a shell-within-a-shell packaging technology. The outer shell is an injection molded, fibre reinforced polycarbonate composite - a material exhibiting a higher strength to weight ratio than steel. The inner shell is crafted from aircraft grade aluminium. An integrated quad fan cooling system with dual air circuits ensures controlled and efficient cooling through the card and drive bay areas.
Easily accessible from the front of the unit are the CD-ROM, floppy drive and (optional) CardBus slots. For applications when data security is an issue, a removable hard disk drive option makes it easy to take data with you.
